ABOUT Kanin

Kanin Guntzelman is a creative director, director and producer with 12+ years of experience building ideas from the ground up for global brands including Johnson & Johnson, Aveeno, Apple, and American Red Cross. At the core of his work is a deep belief that the most powerful brands are human ones. Kanin’s passion is telling visual stories that translate strategy into emotionally grounded creative—stories that feel authentic, earn trust, and allow people to see themselves reflected in the work. His projects have been recognized with a Clio Award and multiple Telly Awards.

Kanin develops and leads campaigns end-to-end, from early concept and creative strategy through production and post, with an emphasis on clarity, craft, and genuine human connection. Alongside his commercial work, Kanin has produced and directed narrative films that have screened at prestigious festivals worldwide, including the Santa Barbara International Film Festival, Austin Film Festival, and Newport Beach Film Festival.

With a background in improv acting, what truly sets Kanin apart is his ability to work with any level of on-camera talent—from seasoned performers to people with no camera experience. He creates environments where people feel safe enough to be themselves and take creative risks, resulting in performances that feel honest, natural, and alive.

Kanin has led productions across the globe, from 200-person studio shoots in Los Angeles to seven-person documentary crews in the Marquesas Islands. No matter the scale, his approach remains the same: elevate the human story at the center of every brand, so audiences don’t just watch the work—they recognize themselves in it.
